After parking your car in the underground parking lot, golfers are greeted with big smiles and welcomes from the courses well trained caddies who are only too happy to whisk off your clubs in preparation for your round. After taking the private elevator up to ground level, one is bombarded with a spacious clubhouse, equal to anything the golfing world has to offer. The ultramodern, yet tropical asian styled, décor is luxurious in its appointment and pleasing to the eye.

Upon entering the pro-shop, one could be excused for thinking that this might be a private country club in the USA, with the well layed out gallery of products on offer. Surprisingly, the prices for goods are extremely reasonable and compare with retail outlets throughout the country. For those on vacation, a large range of rental clubs and gear are available with such brands as Cobra and Titleist making the golfing experience at Black Mountain first class.

The spacious restaurant overlooks the course’s spectacular scene and wets the appetite of those golfers who are not bristling with excitement at their impending round. Delicious coffee, snacks and cold drinks served by more smiling staff help to prepare the body for the rigours of golf or maybe ward off a few nerves at playing such a special course.

No expense has been spared in this club house with the locker rooms more like a 5-star hotels. After changing into golfing attire, one can book in for a post round massage or recuperate with a bubbly jacuzzi. Don’t be afraid of hotel pricing as massages here are as little as 300 Thai baht.

For those serious about their golf, Black Mountain has provided a work out room to warm up those muscles. Fitted out with a swing net and a variety of exercise equipment there is no excuse for injuries out on the course.

Just a short stroll from the warm up room and the 1st tee is the course’s driving range. This upmarket range is perfectly suitable for a warm up hit, some much needed practice or a private lesson. The club offers lessons at reasonable rates and must be booked in advance.

After making way to the first tee, golfers will find their smiling caddie waiting in earnest and ready to please. Remember to take advantage of their course knowledge and know that they wouldn’t think of letting you drive the buggy, that’s their job.
